Whether it’s a complex corporate transaction or a fight over custody of the kids, social media is changing how lawyers do their jobs. The first thing that I tell my clients when they come in, regardless of their legal issue, is to stay off of social media. A post about a great deal on the acquisition of a business or purchase of a piece of property or about taking your kids out of town for the weekend could jeopardize your closing or your case.
Responsible use of social media, through Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or whatever you use, can be valuable to you, your business, or your family. Let’s talk before you post something that can’t be undone.
